ATTENTION FAMILY LAW POTENTIAL DSO VOLUNTEERS:

We have revamped the process for our volunteer mediators/DSOs in family law for the Torrance Court. These changes should improve the experience for our volunteers, judges, and litigants.

 Attached is a link to a Google document where volunteers may select their own dates to be the volunteer mediator. Volunteers will no longer be assigned to DSO days; instead, volunteers should sign up on convenient dates (please sign up once per quarter, ideally). Here is the link to sign up:

On your assigned DSO date, please arrive at Court between 9:00-9:30 a.m. Please check in with BOTH Department 11 and Department J staff. If you do not have any cases sent to you, please check both departments prior to leaving. This will ensure that our volunteers’ time is not wasted and also ensure that mediation is available on designated DSO days (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays).

If you have a conflict on your assigned date, please attempt to resolve it yourself first by reaching out to other mediators. If you cannot find a substitute, please email, call, or text Janice Munoz at janice@jmunozesq.com at 424-445-9818 at your earliest opportunity.
